Strategies for Government
Make a Difference. Take the Pledge.
A core principle of the UCAIR clean air initiative is that the each person has the power to make a difference. That is why one of the cornerstones of the Governor's clean air initiative is the UCAIR Pledge.
The UCAIR Pledge recognizes that simple changes can have a profound impact. Through community leadership, public and employee education, and the resources to effect change on a large scale, governments are in a unique position to improve air quality, encourage economic growth and protect Utah's quality of life.
Instituting fleet policies that restrict idling, endorsing purchasing decisions that emphasize energy efficiency, enacting pollution prevention ordinances, using tax credits to buy alternate fuel vehicles, and providing employees with improved travel options by using TravelWise can result in emissions reductions that make a difference in Utah's air quality.
- State of Utah Automotive Idling Reduction Pledge
This pledge is for State of Utah Departments and agencies. - General Government Pledge
This pledge is for all State, county, and local governments and other public agencies. See who has already pledged.
Coming Soon
UCAIR is revamping its Pledge pages to provide governments with advanced tools that allow
them to track the air quality benefits of their UCAIR Pledge. Calculators will quantify emissions
reductions. Checklists will tally action items that result in significant improvements to air quality
but can't be measured by emissions calculators. Those who have already taken the Pledge will
find that they can diversify their options under these newly designed Pledge pages.
Sign up below and UCAIR will notify you when the new Pledge pages become available this
summer.
